Sant Jordi

Today 23 of April is the "diada of Sant Jordi", only celebrate in Catalonia.
This day people who have libraries come out in the street and they put a table with books and "roses" for sell them.
Specially this day is for the people who are in love, because the boys give a "rosa" to his girlfriends, and the girls give a book to her boyfriends.

The legend in Catalonia about Sant Jordi tells that at Montblanc, in Conca de Barberà, there was a terrible dragon which viciously attacked men and beasts. To pacify it, lots were drown and a person was chosen to be given as a sacrifice to the monster. One day, the misfortune fell on the king's daughter, who would have died in the beast's claws if it had been for the arrival of a handsome knight who challenged the dragon and killed it.

This day means for Catalonia a day for represent the culture and the catalan lenguage.

Tsunami from Japan earthquake – 11th March 2011, 10pm

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre (PTWC) has issued a Tsunami Warning for New Zealand in response to the earthquake in Japan. The New Zealand Tsunami Expert Panel assessment is that this is a marine threat only for New Zealand. A Marine Threat means strong and unusual currents are possible in the sea, rivers and estuaries. No Land Threat is expected at this time.

The first wave arrived at the North cape at around 710 hrs and had an amplitude in the order of 15cm. It is important to note that, based on modelling, higher wave amplitudes are expected to follow over the next few hours.

Based on real-time tsunami modelling and comparison with historical events, the interpretation is that a minor land threat (i.e. wave heights just over 1 m) now exists in Northland between Ahipara and the Karikari Peninsula as well as in the Bay of Islands and the Chatham Islands. A minor land threat means there is a small potential for impacts on beaches in these areas. A marine threat (i.e. threat to the coastal marine area and small boats) remains in place for the northern North Island from Kaipara to Ahipara and south of the Karikari Peninsula to Gisborne. Unusual tidal surges may be observed in other parts of the country.

__________

Today I am going to talk about the disaster in Japan.
I think that what happened in Japan was a very big disaster. Much people died and this means that maybe childrens lost their parents or all family and they are lonely.

There have been a earthquake, a tsunami and for this two problems, the consequences is the radioactivity from nuclears. The consequences of this three disasters have been very bad: people died, houses fell, streets destroyed, cars crushed...

I think that the worst is the radioactivity because it is spreading and arrive until Spain. This radiation is very dangerous for the health of the people of Japan.

In Spain we have a lot of lucky because we have never passed for this situation and I wish that never pass. Japan have received aid since more 130 countries, and specially since Catalonia.

I put here one video of the tsunami in Japan.

Film review

I choose the film "Sin compromiso" because the last time that I went to the cine I saw this film.

The film is about two friends, Adam and Eva, that they are more than friends less than lovers. First it is good but later begin the problems when they start to fall in love.

The main characters are Adam and Eva. Eva is a women who is afraid to fall in love because she hasn't got a good experiences with her ex boyfriends. Adam is a man who the only thing that he wants is find the women of his life and be happy.

It's a funny film and during the film you laught, because you can see a man (Adam) who's in love tries to seduce a woman (Eva), and finally you can see both friends in love.

My friend

Hello, today I'm going to talk about my friend Douaa.
I knew Douaa three years ago in the school.

Douaa is a girl who is eighteen years old. She born in Morocco but she went to Spain when she was fourteen years old. Now she live in Castelló Nou with her parents, her two young sisters and her cousin.

She has got a short and brown hair. She is thin and not tall. She has got a dark eyes and small nose and mouth.

Douaa is friendly and sympathetic. She is a good friend, always when you are sad she tries you smile. When you need anything always she is there. She tries to give good adivices.
But like everyone, all people have got negative points and Douaa is proud, and sometimes this adjective can be bad.

Now, she is second batchillerat in Castelló d'Empúries and we go in the same class. She like study and she is intelligent. The next year if everything it's alright we will go together to Girona in the University for study "Administració i Direcció d'Empreses".

She doesn't like dogs. She doesn't play any sport.
Since one month she has got the driving license.

I love her very much, and I wish that never we separate.
